Het is de bedoeling de werken voor dit project in de loop van 2007 op te starten. De ondersteunende studies voor het opstellen van een project-MER en het vastleggen van een RUP zijn in de afrondingsfase. In de technische werkgroep van deze ondersteunende studies (grondwater, oppervlaktewater, dijkconstructies), waarin WL zetelt, werd voorgesteld een nulmeting van de grondwaterstanden uit te voeren. Deze metingen zouden doorlopen tot enkele jaren na de inrichtingswerken en moeten toelaten een inschatting te maken van de invloed van de ontpoldering op de grondwaterstanden buiten de ontpolderde zone. De verwachting is dat de stijghoogte voor en na ontpoldering gelijk blijft. De voeding van het watervoerende pakket zal niet wezenlijk veranderen tgv. de ontpoldering. De metingen moeten mogelijke disputen omtrent de effecten van ontpoldering op naburige grondwaterstanden op een objectieve manier voeden en zo schade tgv ontpoldering uitsluiten. In dit project wordt WL gevraagd WenZ, aZS te adviseren bij het plaatsen van peilbuizen. WL staat nadien in voor het uitlezen en onderhouden van de peilbuizen, alsook het rapporteren van de meetresultaten gedurende aanvankelijk 3 jaar (evt.
