This database contains:

• field data, used to reconstuct the historical sediment accumulation at the Notelaar Marsh. These field data were used to validate a model predicting historical sedimentation.
• predicted long-term marsh elevation changes for levee-basins within the Paulina Marsh, the Kruispolder Marsh and the Notelaar marsh.
• long-term changes in sedimentation rate, predicted by models and determined in the field (by radiometric or paleoenvironmental dating of sediment cores), at different marsh sites along the salinity gradient of the Scheldt estuary

The long-term sedimentation (10-10² year) on tidal marshes in the Scheldt estuary is studied. Field data were gathered to validate and calibrate numerical models.
