It is placed on the ground floor in the Science Faculty, with an extension of around 50 m2. The plants are covered by a double sheet and put in pasteboard boxes, which are, at the same time, included into compact lockers. All the material is periodically frozen and fumigated. The Herbarium has nearly 80.000 sheets, 95% identified at specie level, and all of them with a label and a registration number with the letters MGC. Cormophyta groups (Angyospermae, Gymnospermae and Pteridophyta) are the most represented, although there are also Algae, Bryophyta and Lichen. The majority of the plants in the Herbarium have their origin in territories of Andalusia, but it contains many plants from the rest of Spain and Northern Morocco too. It is an essential Herbarium for the projects Flora Iberica, Flora de Andaluc\u00eda y norte de \u00c1frica, and Flora de Andaluc\u00eda Oriental, so the greater part of the material has been confirmed or identified by the researchers of these projects. Se encuentra situado en la planta baja de la Facultad de Ciencias con una superficie aproximada de 50 m2. Las plantas est\u00e1n colocadas en un doble pliego e introducidas en cajas de cart\u00f3n, que a su vez se hallan incluidas en armarios compactos. Todo el material es congelado y fumigado peri\u00f3dicamente. El Herbario incluye cerca de 80.000 pliegos, el 95% identificados a nivel de especie y todos ellos etiquetados y registrados bajo las siglas MGC. Se hallan representados fundamentalmente los grupos pertenecientes a Corm\u00f3fitos (Angiospermas, Gimnospermas y Helechos), aunque tambi\u00e9n lo est\u00e1n algas, bri\u00f3fitos y liquenes. Los territorios mejor representados en el Herbario corresponden a Andaluc\u00eda, aunque tambi\u00e9n posee numerosas plantas procedentes del resto de Espa\u00f1a y del norte de Marruecos. Se trata de un Herbario b\u00e1sico en los proyectos de Flora Ib\u00e9rica, Flora de Andaluc\u00eda y norte de \u00c1frica, y Flora de Andaluc\u00eda Oriental, por lo que la mayor\u00eda del material ha sido confirmado o identificado por los investigadores de dichos proyectos.
