Prepared by the British Antarctic Survey, NERC.","EngDescr":"The South Georgia Marine Biodiversity Dataset is the product of an extensive review of over 125 years of research at South Georgia.  It forms part of a larger project sponsored by the UK Government through the Darwin Initiative, DEFRA.  Its focus is predominantly on benthic species and includes over 21,500 records of ~ 1,800 species.  The presence of species is recorded by latitude, longitude, and max/min depth.  The dataset forms the most complete baseline measure of marine biodiversity at South Georgia ever undertaken.
