Measurements were also made on nutrients (N02, N03, NH3, P04-P, Si02), phytoplankton biomass (cell numbers, chlorophyll a, phaeophytin, particulate carbon, particulate nitrogen) and carbon uptake at various levels of light energy on samples collected from 5 meter depth. These observations were continued at 2 hr. intervals for more than 24 hrs. at 3 fixed stations.
