This collection contains presence information for microzooplankton collected using niskin bottles.","EngDescr":"Bedford Basin is a marine embayment encircled by the municipality of Halifax region, which is the most highly populated area in the Canadian Atlantic zone. In 1991, a time series was established to record the weekly state of the plankton ecosystem in this basin. The strategy of regular and perpetual sampling provides data to assess environmental variability at the weekly, monthly, seasonal, annual and decadal time scales. The monitoring program was an extension of a sampling program in the Bedford Basin conducted by researchers at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO) since the mid 1960s. \r\n\r\nThis dataset is part of the sampling program in the 1970s by members of the Marine Ecology Laboratory at BIO. This collection contains presence information for microzooplankton collected using niskin bottles. \r\n\r\nPlankton data collected as part of the sampling program has been archived in the Fisheries and Oceans BioChem database.
