Diverse sources in Quebec have been consulted from the literature (1933-2012) and from biological surveys (1997-2012) conducted by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Quebec Region and its partners.","EngDescr":"The habitats covered are principally from offshore surveys, though it includes shore-based surveys, particularly of intertidal eelgrass beds as well as intertidal marshes and mud flats of the middle and lower portion of the St. Lawrence estuary. The data has been compiled into a geodatabase with environmental information on sites and biological information on most specimens. This dataset provides only the abundance and gender of specimens recorded in the database from the total of 664799 individual records with 185 taxa at 5243 sites. The records have been checked for taxonomic and geographic reliability.
