Six of the world's seven species of marine turtles are found off the coast of Queensland. Despite this, there is a lack of community awareness and understanding of the issues impacting on these great mariners.\r\n\r\nThis project aims to demonstrate to the community through a satellite tracking device what the day-to-day life is for a typical green turtle; with the purpose of empowering community members to be aware of turtles and their movements.\r\n\r\nPeanut is a young green turtle who weighs 15kg and who was found almost dead floating along Ross Creek, Townsville in October 2011.
