Description in English: This information is organized in two layouts: 1) In the database, a subset of GenBank records of 16S rRNA gene sequences is available for general browsing. The sequences were assembled into contigs corresponding to metagenes of likely ribotypes (for more information, read this). Each of the sequence included in the contigs can be accessed separately. You can compare your own sequences to this database using the local BLAST tool You are welcome to submit additional information (sampling coordinates, depth and time) to existing records, but you can also submit new sequences not yet included. 2) The map tool allows you to display global and regional distribution information of similar bacterioplankton ribotypes.
