Samples were taken in six localities along the beaches of the Belgian Coast (Knokke, Mariakerke, Oostende, Heist, Bredene, Zwin) using a core (0-40 cm depth). The core was further divided into layers of 0-2, 2-4, 4-6, 6-8, 8-10, 10-12, 12-14 and 14-20 cm. Meiofauna was identified to species level, while Nematoda, Harpacticoida, Gastrotricha and other meiofauna organisms were counted only to the general taxon-level. This data can be used to investigate the participation and the importance of Turbellaria in the total meiofauna, in terms of both density and biomass.
