The available specimens originated from the reef flat of four different localities of Eastern Indonesia: Maisel, east of Sumba, north of Sumbawa, and Bahuluang (south-west of the Salayar). A total of 61 species belonging to 28 Families and grouped into 11 Orders are observed.

List and counts of observed sponge fauna sampled on 4 locations in eastern Indonesia in September and October 1984. The data were digitized by VLIZ from the original report: Ichsan, A. (1989).
