Comment

The samplings were carried out seasonally (March, May, July, October), from July 1996 to July 2002, in a station located 10 km off Cesenatico coast-line (Emilia Romagna region Northern Adriatic Sea), at 12 m depth (44° 14'.78 N; 12°30'.64 E). The samples were collected in four replicates using a 0.06 m2 Van Veen grab. The collected material was sieved through 1 mm size mesh and organisms preserved in 10% formaldehyde-seawater solution. Sediments are generally silty.
