We also characterized some features of Pelagia axial patterning. To obtain these data, we used the methods of microsurgical manipulations as well as pharmacological intervention into the functioning of signaling pathways. The canonical Wnt-pathway plays the major role in the axis formation of cnidarians having 'typical' life cycle (Duffy et al., 2010; Momose, Houliston, 2007; Momose et al. 2008).
