Bachmann and collected by Dr Hans Amberg, in 1904. The equipment used is a very small net. The samples are from the following stations: (1) Assuan, 1904\/02\/09; (2) Above Edfu, 1904\/02\/08; (3) Dendera, 1904\/02\/04; (4) Assiut, 1904\/02\/02; (5) Above Fashn, 1904\/01\/30; (6) Cairo, 1904\/04\/08 and (7) Bedreshein, 1904\/01\/29. The samples 1,2,3 contain the genus Melosira and were very frequently. The samples 4,6 and 7 conatin Melosira granulata var. augustissima and the typical Melosira crucipunctata. These samples showed hardly any other phytoplankton.
