- Description in English
- Moored surface buoy that serves both ERICs ICOS and LifeWatch. The buoy is equipped with sensors for pCO2, dissolved oxygen, temperature, salinity, fluorescence (Chl-a), turbidity and a passive acoustic receiver. Sensors are deployed approximately 1m below sea surface. The station is visited approximately on a monthly basis in order to collect samples for validation/calibration of sensors and maintain/replace equipment. The station has a secure and stable communication with VLIZ servers for NRT data transmission and overall interactive communication with in situ equipment.
- Abstract in English
- Data collected from the VLIZ Thornton Buoy, a moored surface buoy on the Belgian Continental Shelf, between 2018 and 2020. The dataset contains data for several parameters measured at one meter below the water surface: temperature, salinity, CO2 mole fraction, pCO2, fCO2.
