We applied a randomised block design with waitlist control groups and repeated measures. Eighty-three multilingual students aged 6 to 17 years participated in the workshops, which were held in six cities in two European countries (Germany and the United Kingdom). We also report in the pre- and posttest results of students’ self-report of their intrinsic interest, attainment value, self-concept of ability, as well as intention for future participation in science , and their intrinsic interest, attainment value, and self-concept of ability for Portuguese. We assessed further the effectiveness of the programme by means of a randomised waitlist control group design with repeated measures.
