Description in English

The following actions are important in the creation of the dataset:
- installation, management and maintenance of monitoring points in the field;
- forwarding files with raw data from the individual data loggers to a central server;
- picking up the data files on the central server and performing the necessary conversions (ETL system);
- forwarding (ETL system) the converted data files to the WISKI database;
- 24*7 monitoring of ETL and WISKI database system and carrying out corrective maintenance if required;
- manual validation of measurements of the hydrological parameters waterlevel and discharge on a regular basis, based on gaugings, RTK control measurements and calibration measurements. This manual validation is done within the WISKI application, assigning a quality code to each data point. Validation includes removing outliers, filling missing data based on estimates or measurements from nearby stations, shifting data within a certain range,...;
- frequent manual validation of the precipitation data of the HIC monitoring network by the RMI;
- publication of validated data in hydrological yearbooks (discharges), multiannual overviews (tide area), ... Validated data are also available via HIC-webservices (https://hicws.vlaanderen.be)

De volgende acties zijn belangrijk bij het creƫren van de dataset:
- installatie, beheer en onderhoud van meetpunten in het veld;
- doorsturen van bestanden met ruwe gegevens van de individuele dataloggers naar een centrale server;
- ophalen van de gegevensbestanden op de centrale server en uitvoeren van de nodige conversies (ETL-systeem);
- doorsturen (ETL-systeem) van de geconverteerde gegevensbestanden naar de WISKI database;
- 24*7 bewaking van het ETL- en WISKI-databasesysteem en zo nodig uitvoeren van corrigerend onderhoud;
- handmatige validatie van metingen van de hydrologische parameters waterstand en afvoer op regelmatige basis, gebaseerd op metingen, RTK-controlemetingen en kalibratiemetingen. Deze handmatige validatie wordt uitgevoerd binnen de WISKI-toepassing, waarbij aan elk gegevenspunt een kwaliteitscode wordt toegekend. Validatie omvat het verwijderen van uitschieters, het aanvullen van ontbrekende gegevens op basis van schattingen of metingen van nabijgelegen stations, het verschuiven van gegevens binnen een bepaald bereik, ...;
- frequente handmatige validatie van de neerslaggegevens van het HIC-meetnet door het KMI;
- publicatie van gevalideerde gegevens in hydrologische jaarboeken (afvoeren), meerjarenoverzichten (getijdengebied), ... Gevalideerde gegevens zijn ook beschikbaar via HIC-webservices (https://hicws.vlaanderen.be).

This dataset includes validated measurements of hydrological parameters taken from the continuous HIC monitoring network covering Flemish navigable waterways. Specifically, it concerns the parameters of water level (both inside and outside the tidal area), discharge and precipitation.

Deze dataset omvat gevalideerde metingen van hydrologische parameters afkomstig uit het continue HIC-meetnet dat zich uitstrekt over de Vlaamse bevaarbare waterlopen. Concreet gaat het over de parameters waterstand (zowel binnen als buiten het tijgebied), afvoer en neerslag.
