Area covered: We have mixed the following FAO areas: full 27, full 37, 34 restricted to Canary Is., Madeira Is., Morocco, West Sahara (names in FB.COUNTRYREF.PAESE). Thus we may miss deep-sea species from area 34 off the country above, and less probably high pekagic species. 2 FAO areas for a country: Egypt and Israel are in 2 FAO areas (37 for the Mediterranean, and 57 for the Red Sea). We have not checked if some Red Sea species have been erroneously included or not, apart from known Lessepsian migrant that are marked introduced. Freshwater species: Some strict freshwater species that are erroneously attributed to marine FAO areas have been "manually" removed by their SpecCode, waiting the correction in FB. Attribution by country: No country list is fully complete nor checked by a local expert. But the whole list can be reasonnably considered as complete for the ERMS area. Species with subspecies: The distribution by Country for the species that present subspecies in the ERMS area is done by mixing the distribution of the subspecies. In that case, the species has no SpecCode nor SynCode (and see TaxonomicRemarks for one particular problem).
