RADIALES NW Spain Fish larvae

Abstract in English

Larval fish abundance data collected within the framework of the RADIALES time series monitoring programme, carried out by the IEO-CSIC. The sampling is undertaken monthly from 2005 at three stations located along a transect perpendicular to the Northwest Spanish coastline.Sampling consisted of oblique hauls with a 335 µm mesh-size Bongo net towed from around 100 m or 5 m above the bottom at the coastal shallower station to the surface.The samples were preserved in 4% tetraborate-buffered formaldehyde for subsequent counting and taxonomic identification under a stereoscopic microscope to species level in most cases.
