The dataset of the Tunisian bryozoans reported by Ayari since 2004 groups those signalizations giving information about their distribution and habitats.
Tunisian bryozoans are poorly studied, their knowledge was based especially on some old works. An updated list counting 201 was conducted by d’Hondt & Mascarell (2004) by adding to the previous literature data a total of 22 species. More recently, some studies carried out in northern Tunisia by Ayari et al. (2008; 2012a; 2012b; 2014 and 2022), resulted in the identification of 72 bryozoan species, among which 26 species were newly added to the Tunisian fauna.
