The sampling was conducted along the shores of the Region of Murcia and the province of Almería in the Mediterranean coast of Spain, between September 2024 and September 2025. Benthic samples of epiphytic microalgae were collected at 20 sampling sites, 15 were beaches and 5 were in the natural reserve of Cabo Tiñoso.
