The expertise comprises:\r\n- Mobile proximal soil sensor configurations for the investigation in a non-destructive way of soil properties;\r\n- Geophysical prospection techniques for geoarchaeological and environmental applications;\r\n- Geostatistical interpolation and simulation techniques;\r\n- Sampling strategies for the characterisation of soil-related properties;\r\n- GIS-techniques for the processing of sensor measurements.\r\n\r\nThe marine research is focused on the development of a geophysical methodology for soil inventory in the western Belgian coastal plain and a landscape-archaeological study of the Zwin area.","AbstractOtherLang":"De onderzoeksgroep Ruimtelijke Bodeminventarisatietechnieken (ORBit) staat in voor de educatie, het onderzoek en de dienstverlening met betrekking tot de ruimtelijke inventarisatie van bodemeigenschappen voor verschillende toepassingen.
