- The Hellenic Centre for Disease Control & Prevention (Κέντρο Ελέγχου και Πρόληψης Νοσημάτων) was founded in 1992 as a Legal Entity covered by private law. It is headquartered in Athens and is under the control and authority of the Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity. The Organisation’s purpose is to coordinate and support public health efforts to prevent and control infectious and chronic diseases, accidents and environmental health efforts.
