It covers all fields related to Water and the Environment in both the Civil\r\nEngineering degree of AUTh (with 220 students per year) and the research oriented Ph.D degree (with\r\napproximately 8 post-graduate students per year).\r\nThere are four research groups within the division with the following research interests: (a) Fluid\r\nMechanics and Hydraulics, (b) Environmental Engineering, (c) Water Resources Engineering and (d)\r\nMaritime Hydraulics and Coastal Engineering. The laboratories of Hydraulics and Environmental\r\nEngineering with advanced, modern instrumentation and laboratory channels and basins support the\r\nabove groups in their educational and research activities.\r\nThe research group in maritime hydraulics and coastal engineering consists of 5 professors, 3 research\r\nassociates with Ph.D degrees and 3 post-doctoral fellows. The group supervises approximately 20\r\nundergraduate students in their diploma thesis every year and 12 Ph. D students.
