Description @en
The Section Hydraulic Engineering is together with the Section Fluid Mechanics part of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering (In Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences of Delft University of Technology). The Department have gained over the years an internationally established reputation in fluid dynamics, in coastal dynamics, in the fields of coastal sediment transport, in coastal morphology, in coastal zone management, in coastal protection, in probabilistic design, in design of coastal structures and in the numerical modelling of the processes involved. The Section Hydraulic Engineering is involved in many national and international research projects. About 20 Ph.D. students are investigating several aspects of hydraulic engineering within the Section.
