L'étude de l'instabilité thermoconvective de Rayleigh-Bénard-Marangoni constitue depuis longtemps un de nos principaux domaines d'expertise. La Thermodynamique Etendue trouve une bonne partie de ses racines dans la collaboration que l'un d'entre nous a menée avec d'autres équipes de recherche. Plus récemment, nous nous sommes intéressés à l'instabilité de Faraday. Dans le cadre d'un contrat de recherche avec l'ESA, notre attention s'est également portée sur la description thermodynamique du phénomène d'évaporation et sur ses relations avec les instabilités thermoconvectives et l'apparition de turbulence interfaciale.
