This study is the first component of the ‘Research on the environmental effects of the SIGMA plan: Effects of dredgings and harbour expansion on the environment’ It provides the basis of a dataset which can be used for several aims (modeling, research contexts,….). The coordination of all theme’s is constructed in such a way that the homogeneity of the common dataset is not liable to be pushed aside. Within this study a recognition of the Flemish government and accreditation according to EN 45001 or ISO/IEC 17025 is necessary for all the parameters that are not measured in situ: hydrochlorate, sulfaat, OFFER, ammonium, nitrite, nitrate, kjeldahl nitrogen, orthophosphate, total phosphorus and dissolved silicon. All samples analyzed in the laboratory were kept cool and in the dark.

Deze studie maakt het 1ste perceel uit van het "Onderzoek naar de gevolgen van het Sigmaplan, baggeractiviteiten en havenuitbreiding in de Zeeschelde op het milieu". Dit perceel levert de basis van de dataset die voor meerdere doeleinden (modellering, onderzoeksomkadering, baggervergunning) kan gebruikt worden. Tevens wordt hier de coördinatie van alle percelen afgestemd zodat de homogeniteit van de gezamenlijke dataset niet in het gedrang komt. Binnen dit perceel is een erkenning van de Vlaamse Regering en accreditatie volgens EN 45001 of ISO/IEC 17025 vereist voor de parameters die niet in situ bepaald worden, zijnde chloride, sulfaat, BOD, ammonium, nitriet, nitraat, kjeldahl-stikstof, orthofosfaat, totaal fosfor en opgelost silicium. Alle stalen die verdere bepaling in het laboratorium behoeven dienen tot het moment van analyse gekoeld en in het donker te worden bewaard.
