The final report of this fifth component therefore discusses the results in relation to the results of the third and fourth study. Because the light climate changes with increasing depth in the water column, primary production is expressed as a function of the depth and integration of primary production according to daily time- intervals is estimated.","AbstractOtherLang":"Deze studie maakt het 5de perceel uit van het \"Onderzoek naar de gevolgen van het Sigmaplan, baggeractiviteiten en havenuitbreiding in de Zeeschelde op het milieu\".\r\n\r\nDit perceel betreft de monitoring van primaire productie.  Deze parameter is noodzakelijk omdat geen eenduidig verband tussen de abundantie van fytoplankton en primaire productie kan bepaald worden, bvb. omdat de gezondheidstoestand van fytoplankton de primaire productie beïnvloedt.  Het lichtklimaat is bepalend voor primaire productie.  Het lichtklimaat wordt sterk beïnvloed door de zwevende stof.  De eindrapportage van perceel 5 bevat daarom een discussie waarin de resultaten specifiek in verband gezet zijn met de resultaten van perceel 3 en perceel 4.  Omdat het lichtklimaat verandert met toenemende diepte in de waterkolom, wordt in perceel 5 de primaire productie als functie van de diepte bepaald.
