The project consists of seven themes: \r\n1) Selection of the BFR congeners by in vitro (receptor) assays covering a wide spectrum of endocrine effects; \r\n2) Human hazard identification by studies in rats, including assessment of reproductive and immune function; \r\n3) Aquatic wildlife hazard identification in zebra fish and flounder; \r\n4) Human exposure assessment by measurement of actual levels and time trends in breast milk and human diets in Europe; \r\n5) Aquatic ecosystem exposure assessment by measurement of levels in the aquatic food chain including top predators in polluted and reference sites in Europe;
