The Danish Coastal Authority constructs and maintains state coast protection on the west coast of Jutland. Other assignments are harbour operation, dredging, and storm surge alerts for the west coast of Jutland and the tidal flats. The west coast of Jutland is constantly affected by waves and currents from the North Sea. To protect man-made valuables from erosion and flooding, the Danish state has carried out coast protection on the west coast since 1875.","AbstractOtherLang":"Et af Kystdirektoratets overordnede mål på kystområdet er: ”at fastholde og udbygge KDI’s position som en kompetent organisation, der løser alle sine kerneopgaver med dygtighed, som fremstår som en dynamisk organisation, der kan tilpasse sig tidens krav og påtage sig nye opgaver, og som bredt opfattes som en ærlig og troværdig rådgiver og samarbejdspartner”. Til at nå målet er der udarbejdet en strategi, som implementeres gennem et 4-årigt udviklingsprogram, som er tildelt særskilte ressourcer.
