The project GERMA (Gestion des Ressources Marines) is a part of APPUIT program (joint program between Europe and Morocco Kingdom). This program aims to enhance , sustainable natural resource management and its exploitation (Agricultural, forestrial and marine resources) through remote sensing support. Under APPUIT program, there are two main projects :
  1. Follow-up of vegetation and moroccan forests management within FORMA and GLOVE projects.
  2. Follow-up of sea temperatures and ocean color in relationship with upwelling activities, aquacultural and algae potentialities of the moroccan coasts within GERMA project.
Germa has the following objectives:
  • Understanding of upwelling variability.
  • Prospection inshore and offshore of aquacultural area.
  • Prospection and assessment of algae field.
