Wave overtopping at coastal structures occurs more frequently then foreseen in the design and is often impermissible large. This project studies possible designs to reduce wave overtopping, taking into account the spatial limitations. Physical modeling and numerical validation will be used for this purpose.

Golfoverslag over kustwaterbouwkundige constructies treedt vaker op dan bij het ontwerp voorzien en is vaak ontoelaatbaar groot. Meestal ontbreekt de ruimte om de ontwerpen aan te passen en veiliger te maken. Onderhavig projectvoorstel doet fundamenteel onderzoek naar de ontwikkeling van maatregelen ter reductie van golfoverslag, rekening houdend met de ruimtelijke beperkingen. Fysische modellering en numerieke validatie zullen met dit doel worden gebruikt.
