- This project aims at the development of molecular characterization and authentication tools, using Chilean Artemia as model organism. Improved techniques will result in better insight into the characteristics of the Artemia populations, and in its more efficient use in aquaculture and saltworks management. Secondly, the methodology will be adapted to study the genetic resources of species relevant for Chilean aquaculture.

- Dit project beoogt de ontwikkeling van technieken voor moleculaire karakterisatie en authenticatie, met Chileense Artemia-rassen als modelorganisme. Verbeterde technieken zullen leiden tot meer inzicht in de eigenschappen van de Artemia-populaties, en een doelmatiger gebruik in aquacultuur en zoutproductie. In tweede instantie zal deze methodologie aangepast worden om de genetische profielen te bestuderen van species, relevant voor de Chileense aquacultuur.
