Het acroniem ISECA staat dan ook voor \"Information System on the Eurtrofication of our Coastal Areas. Het door VLIZ uit te bouwen portaal  zal heel wat meta-informatie bundelen over de actoren in België, het Verenigd Koninkrijk, Frankrijk en Nederland die rond dit thema werken. Denk dan aan meetnetwerken en andere instellingen die onderzoek en monitoring doen naar het eurtrofiëren van onze kustwateren. Het zal daarvoor gebruik maken van de imis-informatiesysteem dat door het VLIZ is ontwikkeld. Bovendien zal een instrument worden ontwikkeld waardoor een snelle evaluatie van de waterkwaliteit aan de hand van earth observation data mogelijk wordt. Deze tool zal beschikbaar worden gesteld via het portaal en richt zich op belanghebbenden in de regio en op wetenschappers met een interesse in het thema. Bovendien zal het portaal ook de eutrofiëringsproblematiek naar het brede publiek toelichten.
