{"projectrec":{"ProID":4853,"StandardTitle":"A Portal to Atmospheric and Marine Information Resources","OrigTitle":null,"Acronym":"PAMIR","AbstractEnglish":"The project A Portal to Atmospheric and Marine Information Resources (PAMIR) is a collaboration between three Belgian Federal Scientific Institutes active in environmental monitoring and research: the Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy (IASB-BIRA), the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (RBINS) and the Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium (RMIB).\r\n\r\nStarted in early 2014, this two-year project is funded under the Belgian Research Action through Interdisciplinary Network (BRAIN-be) and is implemented under the aegis of the Belgian Science Policy Office.\r\n\r\nThe project purpose is to explore both common and specific aspects of atmospheric and oceanographic data validation procedures and documentation requirements in order to generate harmonized practice guidelines and tools. Its objectives include the elaboration of a validation protocol and a metadata scheme virtually applicable to any scientific atmospheric or oceanographic dataset, with the purpose of providing Belgian scientific institutes with an appropriate common framework to validate and document their data holdings.\r\n\r\nPractical deliverables of the project include this web portal and its integrated information and tools. The PAMIR metadata editor and catalogue will be demonstrated on selected use cases.
