De ontwikkelde modellen worden gebruikt bij een algemene evaluatie van de huidige hoeveelheid stikstof, fosfor en silicium die naar de oceanen gebracht wordt met behulp van een typologie van de riviersystemen van de diverse geografische zones over de wereld.
