In order to improve the water quality for the rearing of marine organisms a renovation of the storage tanks for seawater is essential. An appropriate filtration and disinfection procedure consisting of a high pressure sand filter, activated carbon filter and UV treatment will improve the quality of the seawater and hence be beneficial for the survival of the cultured organisms. In its turn this will improve the standardization and application of several experiments.

Ter verbetering van de waterkwaliteit voor de kweek van diverse mariene organismen is de renovatie van het opslagbekken voor zeewater noodzakelijk. Een aangepaste filtratie en desinfectie - procedure bestaande uit een hoge druk zandfilter, koolstof filter en UV behandeling zal de kwaliteit van het zeewater bevorderen en dus de algemene overleving van de gekweekte organismen ten goede komen. Dit zal op zijn beurt de standaardisatie en uitvoering van diverse experimenten bevorderen.
