This study is a small part of the large-scale Aerosol Characterization Experiment (ACE-2) which aims at studying the effect of European and Sahara aerosols on the climate in the Eastern Atlantic region. By measurements at the coast and on a mountain top in Tenerife, this subproject will identify the aerosol in the marine boundary layer, its mixing with tropospheric aerosols and the resulting climatic effects.

Deze studie is een deel van het grootschalig Aerosol Characterization Experiment (ACE-2) dat beoogt de invloed te bestuderen van Europese en Sahara aerosolen op het klimaat in de Oostelijke Atlantische Oceaan. Door metingen langs de kust en op een berg in Tenerife beoogt dit deelproject de aerosolen in de marine menglaag en de vrije troposfeer te identificeren en hun menging en klimaatseffecten te voorspellen.
