The distribution of ostracods on a carbonate platform is largely determined by microfacies properties. The occurence of interstitial ostracods, however, is influenced by the physical constraints of the sediment. Emphasis will also be on the relationship between bio- and thanatocoenoses, and on geographical and climatological factors influencing faunistical distribution.","AbstractOtherLang":"Dit project streeft naar nieuwe inzichten in de taxonomie, ecologie en zoögrafie van mariene ostracoden in het Indo-Pacifische gebied. De verspreiding van ostracoden op een carbonaatplatform is grotendeels bepaald door microfacies eigenschappen. Het voorkomen van intersitiële ostracoden daarentegen is bepaald door 'physical constraints'.
