The distribution of zoobenthos in estuaries is not only influenced by sediment characteristics, but also by hydrodynamic features. In this study the occurrence of zoobenthos is related to current velocities and sediment transport patterns. Observations have been carried out in two cross-sections in the brakish part of the Schelde estuary. The former Institute for Nature Conservation was a partner in this project

Het voorkomen van macrozoöbenthos in estuaria wordt niet alleen bepaald door de aard van het sediment, maar ook door hydrodynamische parameters. In deze studie wordt het voorkomen van bodemdieren in relatie gebracht met optredende stroomsnelheden en transportpatronen. Hiervoor zijn metingen uitgevoerd in twee dwarsraaien in het oostelijk deel van het Schelde estuarium. Het voormalige Instituut voor Natuurbehoud was een partner in dit project
