Seasonal grid point data for western Europe from CO<sub>2</sub>-perturbed and control runs for five GCMs are presented. It is concluded that the regional climate scenarios currently available are not sufficiently reliable at the required spatial resolution for the purposes of coastal ecosystem impact studies. Modelling techniques developed for the study of climate/agricultural links are described. Techniques which are appropriate for the study of climate and coastal ecosystems are identified.
