The development started after the closure of the former Grevelingen estuary and was followed for 4.5 yrs. Ecosystem attributes studied were biomass, secondary production, production/biomass ratio, type of food chains, species diversity, pattern diversity, size of organisms, type of life-cycles, and r-and K-selection. The results are discussed in relation to E. P.
