The papers dealing with the genera <i>Solenocera, Penaeus, Metapenaeus, Penaeopsis</i> and <i>Parapenaeus</i> have been published elsewhere. In this paper comparative observations are presented on <i>Parapenaeopsis acclivirostris</i> Alcock, 1905; <i>P.tenella</i> (Bate, 1888); <i>Trachypenaeus sedili</i> Hall, 1962; <i>T. aff. curvisrotris</i> (Stimpson, 1860), and <i>Metapenaeopsis andamanensis</i> (Wood-Mason, 1891) of which <i>P. tenella</i> and <i>T. sedili</i> represent new records from East African waters.
