A total of nineteen scientific papers were contributed by the participants and were made available for advance circulation, to outline the state-of-the-art in the area of oceanographic modelling of the KAP region, and to focus attention on relevant key problems. This report presents all scientific papers given by the invited speakers to the Symposium and abstracts of the contributed papers which were presented at the Symposium, as well as the adopted recommendations.
