After subjecting the results of the August survey to a discriminant function analysis, the bay was divided into three ecological areas: the zones near the rivers' mouths, and the northeastern and southwestern portions. Discriminant functions for each one of the three areas are presented, and factors influencing the meiofaunal characteristics are discussed.
