A single clone can be cultured simply in the lab for indefinite periods. Thresholds of sensitivity to 3 metals in 11-day experiments were Hg<sup>2+</sup> 1.6-1.7 {mu}/l, Cu<sup>2+</sup> 10-13 {mu}g/l, Cd<sup>2+</sup> 110-280 {mu}g/l.
