Two species of Tribolodon genus are described: the small-scale T. brandti (Dybowskii) and the large-scale T. hakonensis (Gunther). The biology of the sea and freshwater life periods of both redfin species, their spawning ecology and behaviour are considered. Redfin stock state is estimated by the data of trawl surveys in Peter the Great Bay.
