The test equipment, the experimental program and a selection of preliminary results is reviewed. An analysis, based on the magnitude and position of the extreme values for the longitudinal and lateral force components and the yaw moment, yields a formulation for the time history of interaction forces for each particular combination of ship models as a function of drafts, water depth, speeds and lateral distance.
