[S.n.]: Antwerpen.  44 pp.","DocTypID":13,"DocType":"Reports","MarineFlag":0,"FreshFlag":0,"BrackishFlag":1,"TerrestrialFlag":0,"Authorstring":"Antwerpse Zeehavendienst","OrigTitleTranslFlag":0,"Authorstringtrunc":"Antwerpse Zeehavendienst","Englishabstract":null,"AbstractOtherLang":"De Royerssluis te Antwerpen is sterk verouderd; de muren, de deuren en hun aandrijfmechanismen, de deurkamers en de rijwegovergang op de deuren, de verlaten en de toegangsstaketsels zijn in een zeer slechte toestand zodat er jaarlijks aanzienlijke uitgaven nodig om de sluis operationeel te houden.<br><br> De bouw van een nieuwe sluis moet het mogelijk maken om grote duwvaart te versassen, ze in overeenstemming te brengen met de nieuwe mogelijkheden van het Albertkanaal, de zeevaart in verband met het renovatiegebied Albertdok op te vangen en om de Kattendijksluis, die eveneens in zeer slechte staat verkeert, buiten dienst te kunnen stellen.<br><br>Uit het vooronderzoek blijkt echter dat de nieuwe sluis slechts op dezelfde plaats kan gebouwd worden.<br><br>Gelet op de belangrijke trafiek die door de sluis versast wordt dient daarom, tijdens de bouw van een nieuwe sluis, de bestaande sluis zo lang mogelijk in dienst te worden gehouden.
