Favourable temperature conditions for growth and activity of young plaice may be found where maintenance costs are relatively low and the scope for activity relatively high, that is at about 18°C.4. The oxygen consumption of young plaice in air-saturated sea water, is limited at higher temperatures by limitation in the capacity of the respiratoy pump.","AbstractOtherLang":"1. Het maximum voor de scope for activity wordt door 1-jarige schollen bereikt bij 19°C.2. De maintenace costs zijn minimaal bij temperaturen tussen ong 10 en ong. 18°C.3. De gunstige temperatuur voor de ontwikkeling van een dier is die temperatuur in het traject waar de maintenance costs minimaal zijn, waar de scope for activity het grootst is. Voor de éénjarige schol is dit ong. 18°C.4.
